About the Journal

Annals of Statistical Theory and Applications (ASTA) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal of the Professional Statisticians' Society of Nigeria (PSSN). The journal provides a scholarly platform for the publication and dissemination of high-quality research that advances statistical theory, methodology, computation, and applications.

Open Access Policy

ASTA is a fully open-access journal. All published articles are made freely available online immediately upon publication without subscription or access restrictions. Authors retain copyright of their published work. Authors grant ASTA the right of first publication and publish their articles under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence.

Peer Review

ASTA operates a rigorous peer-review process. Submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine their suitability for the journal before being sent for external peer review. Editorial decisions are based on the quality, originality, methodological soundness, relevance, and contribution of the submitted work.

Publication Ethics

Neither the Professional Statisticians' Society of Nigeria nor any other sponsoring or affiliated organisation determines the acceptance or rejection of individual manuscripts on the basis of commercial, political, or other non-scholarly considerations.

Sponsorship and Publisher

ASTA is published by the Professional Statisticians' Society of Nigeria (PSSN). The journal's publisher and sponsoring organisation do not influence editorial decisions or the peer-review process.

Archiving and Digital Preservation

ASTA is committed to the long-term preservation and continued accessibility of its published scholarly content. The journal uses appropriate digital preservation and archiving mechanisms supported by its publishing platform and will participate in recognised preservation services, including LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, or other suitable long-term digital preservation systems where available.

The names and email addresses entered into the journal's OJS platform will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of the journal and will not be made available for unrelated purposes or to third parties.

Journal History

ASTA is established as a scholarly publication of the Professional Statisticians' Society of Nigeria, providing a dedicated platform for research and scholarly communication in statistical theory and applications. Publication Frequency

ASTA publishes six issues annually, subject to the journal's editorial and publication schedule.
